When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

based off of "Samantha Brown Get Down! Get Down!" by Red Knife Lottery [link] Model: Georgia Lloyd In this piece, the impression i wanted to give is that this girl had just been date raped, with help from the date rape drug Rohypnol [Roofies]. Doing a teeny bit of research, i found that another name for 'Roofie' is 'Roach'. With this, i made a stencil [with the help of Adam Wellsfry, becasue i suck at that kind of stuff] of a cockroach. The main colors i wanted to focus on is White and Red. I chose someone with a lighter complexion and blonde hair to aid in the meaning. She is dressed in all white, and a teeny bit of pink in her bra to show the archetypal meaning of Innocence and Purity. using red, i wanted the focus to be on her smeared lipstick and the red roach in the corner; Red stands for Lust, Danger, and Destruction. [i wanted red to overpower white becasue of the Destruction of her Purity and Innocence] I wanted to give the photo a tint of yellow, to give a dramatic grungy/dirty effect. i can only imagine how someone would feel when first waking up from that. i had a different image worked out in my head which i felt would have been better; but due to busy schedules i wasn't able to shoot at the location i was hoping to. |
